Wise County VINELink Coverage
Texas VINE, reached through VINELink, is a custody-status and notification service. It receives data from participating jails and correctional agencies. A Wise County search may return a person currently confined or a person recently reported as released. The result can identify the reporting agency or facility, current status, and a custody-event date when supplied.
Coverage follows the source record, not county geography alone. A Wise County Detention Center booking belongs to the county jail trail. A state prisoner at Bridgeport Unit belongs to TDCJ. Texas VINE may notify on either participating record, but it does not merge their full histories. A transfer out of the county jail can produce a custody change while the person stays confined elsewhere.
VINE may offer notice for release, transfer, escape, death, or another custody change, depending on the agency feed and event choices. A person can move through more than one system, so read the facility label every time. “Released” from one physical jail does not rule out a transfer to TDCJ, another county, the USMS, or ICE. The receiving system must be checked when the event points there.
The Texas VINELink entry page is the official state starting point.
The state screen leads to person search and notification tools. It does not replace the Wise County jail record, TDCJ history, or a court judgment.
Search Wise County VINELink Records
Use the specific Texas search page and enter the strongest identifiers available. A full name may produce more than one person. Do not select a match based only on a similar spelling. Compare the reporting agency, facility, identifier, and any descriptors the source provides.
- Open the Texas VINE person search and choose “Search for Someone.”
- Enter the person’s name or available identifier. Choose the source-supplied photo option only if useful.
- Complete the current verification or CAPTCHA prompt.
- Review all matches and open only the record tied to the correct agency and person.
- Save the status, event date, facility, and access time before leaving the result.
The live interface can change. Search controls and event labels should be read as displayed. A no-result does not prove release. The record may have aged out, the source may not participate, the service may be unavailable, the record may be restricted, or the query may not match the agency data.
Try a careful second search before drawing a conclusion. Confirm spelling, reverse a compound surname only when the person is known to use both forms, and use an official identifier when one is available. Avoid forcing a match through broad descriptors alone. If several results remain possible, compare each agency and event, then confirm identity with the office that owns the record.
The manifest capture of the Texas person-search workflow shows the relevant search context.
This screen is for one person’s participating record. It is not a countywide list of everyone released on a given day.
Wise County VINELink Release Fields
A VINE result is concise because its purpose is notice, not full case reconstruction. The exact fields depend on what the jail or correctional agency sends. Preserve the whole record rather than copying only a status word. Agency and date context help show which custody changed.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name or identifier | Helps distinguish the correct person from similar names. |
| Agency or facility | Identifies the source that supplied the custody record. |
| Custody status | Reports the source’s current confined, released, or out-of-custody wording. |
| Custody event and date | Shows a reported change and its source-supplied date when available. |
| Notification options | Lists the events and contact methods currently offered for that record. |
| Source-supplied photo | May appear if the agency provides one; VINE is not an image archive. |
A released or out-of-custody status does not state every legal detail. It may not explain bond conditions, a court order, transfer destination, or later supervision. Open the Wise County jail and court trail for a county booking. For a state prisoner, use TDCJ release information and Parole Division records when supervision follows.
Note: Save a recent release result promptly because participating-agency data can age out of the public VINE display.
Register Wise County Release Alerts
Registration begins inside the correct person’s record. Choose only events that are offered for that agency. Delivery options can include telephone, email, text, or in-app notice. VINE recommends using more than one method when the interface allows it, which reduces dependence on a single unreachable number or inbox.
- Select “Register” or “Get Notifications” on the matched record.
- Choose the offered custody events, such as release or transfer.
- Add the phone, email, text, or in-app destination currently supported.
- Create the four-digit PIN when prompted and keep it available.
- Complete any email or SMS account verification code.
- For an automated call, listen and enter the PIN followed by
#to acknowledge that event.
Acknowledgment matters. Entering the PIN after an automated call stops repeat calls for that event. Text registration can also use the PIN. Email or SMS account verification is separate from acknowledging a later custody notification. Keep both steps distinct.
Registrations can be managed through Texas “Look Up Registrations” with the original phone number or email address. Update contact details before they become unreachable. If the PIN is lost, use VINE support rather than guessing through a live alert. The PIN is meant to confirm receipt of an event; it is not an inmate identifier and does not change the underlying agency record.
The VINELink registration entry connects users to the current notification interface.
The captured interface illustrates the registration route. Available methods and labels should always be checked in the live record.
Preserve Wise County VINE Results
Wise County’s local notification layer has one important limit: VINE data can age out. A recently released result may disappear even though the underlying Sheriff record remains. Preserve the result, date, time, agency, and event wording. A screenshot or alert can document what VINE displayed, but it is not the permanent county release record.
Then confirm at the source. For a Wise County jail booking, ask the Sheriff for the actual release or movement time, type, and receiving agency through Wise County Open Records. Match that event with Odyssey jail, bond, and criminal case entries. A signed court record may explain why custody changed, yet only the jail movement record establishes the county’s physical out-book event.
The same preservation rule applies to TDCJ. Save the VINE event, but use TDCJ information for the state custody history. A projected release date is an estimate, a parole eligibility date is not a grant, and a scheduled date can change. An internal transfer from Bridgeport Unit may change the facility name without ending state confinement. Status and release type must come from the proper state record.
The official VINELink support center addresses searches, notifications, registrations, and account help.
Support can help with the service and a lost PIN. Errors in custody data must be corrected by the jail or corrections agency that supplied them.
Confirm Wise County VINELink Releases
VINE can lag because it depends on agency feeds. Never rely on it alone in an emergency or for a final legal conclusion. A status notification should be paired with the source record. The strongest Wise County jail confirmation is a release or movement event plus the related court, bond, supervision, or receiving-agency entry.
Texas VINE does not receive federal or ICE records. Use the BOP Inmate Locator for a person serving a federal sentence and the ICE Online Detainee Locator for immigration custody. A pretrial federal defendant may be housed under a USMS contract and may never appear in BOP’s sentenced-prisoner system. Absence from ICE is also not proof of release.
TDCJ requires its own care. Its public offender search lists people currently incarcerated in a TDCJ facility, with data at least 24 hours old and updated on working days. A vanished TDCJ result is not a former-prisoner archive. Request incarceration and release history through TDCJ when a state discharge must be documented.
A Wise County court file can add the legal basis for a county change. The County Clerk generally handles county-level misdemeanor records, while the District Clerk maintains district-court felony records. A judgment, dismissal, bond order, jail-credit finding, or community-supervision order may explain the event. “Disposed” describes the case, however, and does not alone prove that every custodial hold ended.
The Wise County released inmate lookup explains how these separate county, state, federal, immigration, and court paths fit together.
Wise County Custody Status Paths
The correct next step depends on the result. A current Wise County jail record should be checked against the timestamped roster and Odyssey booking. A released county result should lead to the Sheriff’s out-book record and court disposition. A state-prison record belongs to TDCJ, even if the facility sits within Wise County. A federal or ICE record belongs to its federal system.
| Status or custody | Primary confirmation |
|---|---|
| Wise County jail, current | Odyssey Jail Records and timestamped Sheriff roster |
| Wise County jail, released or moved | Sheriff release/movement record plus court or receiving-agency record |
| TDCJ state custody | TDCJ Inmate Information and Classification channels |
| Federal sentence | BOP Inmate Locator and federal records |
| Immigration custody | ICE Online Detainee Locator and ICE records |
The Wise County Detention Center is located at 200 Rook Ramsey Drive, Decatur, TX 76234, and its public phone is 940-627-5971. No public hours were published. Contact the jail for its record, not for a TDCJ, BOP, or ICE status it does not control.
Note: A transfer from Wise County physical custody is not community release when another agency takes custody.
